This is another megalist of resources I have put together for your convenience. This time, you can find websites and other spaces all across the internet, where creativity is still lucrative and the power of the independent artist is put at the forefront.
In today's world, most large "art sites" have become highly monopolized by big corporations and only now care about promoting whatever content will maximize their advertising revenue. However there are still plenty of small spaces online where the individual's right to creative freedom is valued, and this list aims to show off those places.
It should be reiterated that nothing I do here is meant to be an attack on corporations themselves, or anything of a similar ilk; all that is being advocated here is that corporations not completely monopolize art on the internet.
With that being said, I hope this webpage brings to your attention some great online venues for all your artistic needs.
1. Every resource listed here must be run independently; that is, either by individuals who do not belong to corporations, or small independent companies that are not owned by larger corporations.
2. The source must put genuine human creativity at the forefront of its endeavours.
3. The source must not otherwise unethically exploit its userbase for personal or financial gain.
Most of these can be technically classified as curators, but since they run on users submitting their work to be seen, they are also distributing services.
Sites that don't let individuals post stuff, but are great (and non-corporately-owned) venues for finding independent or otherwise largely obscured artists you would love. (plus they're some of the sites I used to find much of the stuff here.)
